Guiding Leaders Through Complexity
For over fifteen years, helm conenis has provided thoughtful counsel to Hong Kong's business leaders, helping them navigate challenging decisions with clarity and confidence.
Back to HomeOur Story
helm conenis was founded in 2009 with a clear purpose: to provide senior business leaders with the kind of candid, experienced counsel that is difficult to find within their own organisations.
Our founder recognised that executives often face situations where internal advisors have conflicting interests, and external consultants frequently arrive with predetermined solutions. There was a need for something different: advisors who would listen carefully, think independently, and speak honestly while respecting the ultimate authority of those they served.
Today, we continue that tradition. We work with chairmen, chief executives, and boards across Hong Kong, providing perspective on strategic questions, governance challenges, and leadership transitions. Our approach remains grounded in the belief that good counsel helps leaders make better decisions rather than making decisions for them.
Based in Tsim Sha Tsui, we are close to the commercial heart of Hong Kong while maintaining the independence that effective advisory requires.

Expertise Rooted in Experience
helm conenis brings together professionals who have occupied the positions our clients now hold. Our advisors have served as chief executives, board directors, and senior corporate officers. This background shapes how we approach advisory work: we understand the pressures of executive responsibility and the complexity of organisational dynamics from direct experience.
Our practice focuses on three interconnected areas where experienced outside perspective proves most valuable. Executive advisory provides confidential counsel for leaders facing strategic questions or organisational challenges where internal advice may be compromised by political considerations. Board effectiveness work helps governing bodies enhance their contribution through thoughtful assessment and development. Leadership transition support addresses one of the most consequential decisions any organisation makes: selecting and onboarding chief executives.
We work primarily with Hong Kong-based organisations, though many of our clients have regional or global operations. This local focus allows us to bring deep understanding of Hong Kong's business culture, regulatory environment, and commercial practices to every engagement. For matters requiring expertise in other markets, we maintain relationships with trusted advisors in major financial centres across Asia and beyond.
Our approach emphasises listening before advising, understanding before recommending, and respecting client authority throughout. We believe good counsel helps leaders think more clearly about their situations rather than substituting our judgment for theirs. This philosophy guides everything we do.
